How to speed the healing process after a dental surgery?

I had a dental surgery for exposure and bracketing of my impacted cuspid on saturday.The surgery area isn't swollen or painful but the wound isn't healed yet.I'm on a trip in 4 days and I want to know if there's any way to speed the healing process so that I won't have any problem there.Is there any way for the wound to heal quicker?

Suggestion:

start doing warm salt water rinses 4-5 times/day for the remaining 4 days.
this will increase the blood flow to the gums around the impacted canine and it will heal quickly.
keep the area clean with proper light brushing and mouthwash.

Like if one's teeth is in a disgusting state, unhygienic or looks very unattractive, would it go against God's will if he/she got them bleached and shaped?

I'm on disability..can't afford to pay..& terrified of the chair at the dentist! Want to go into the hospital as an outpatient..& get them all done at once. Already called UCLA & USC. They are to expensive.

hi am 16yrs old.. i had to wear retainers for 6 months and then fixed braces after. i wore the retainers for a bit but then i stopped wearing them. i just could stand wearing them cos they were so uncomfortable and i hated wearing them!! i'd rather just wear the fixed braces only but i cant do that. i really would like straight teeth but not with wearing retainers or fixed braces cos it takes too long. i want to know how much it costs to have surgery instead and if it is better! i've done some research and there is a clinic in london that do dental surgery. its called… london smile clinic. i just wanna know how much it would cost and if its better than wearind braces and retainers?! please help! x

Suggestion:

You cannot have surgery "instead" of braces. Surgery is required for cases where the jaw bones are well out of alignment, and the surgery effectively breaks the jaw bones, and they are wired into the right place. If the teeth are wonky, then braces are used to straighten them, not surgery

I just went to the dentist and he told me that if I don't stop chewing my cheek I might need surgery to repair the extensive tissue damage I've caused. I don't realize I'm doing it and was wondering if wearing a dental guard like what people wear to stop grinding their teeth would help?

Suggestion:

Yes, I used to bite my cheek and my mom told me about using a mouth guard, and it helped me to stop, i still do it sometimes, but it wouldnt hurt to try!

I am having an Extraction of all four wisdom teeth (Impacted) will the oral surgeon put me to sleep to where i don't see or feel anything? I have high anxiety and i cant stand the sight of blood.

Suggestion:

I am 99.9% sure that yes, you will be under anesthesia. You may call the oral surgeon's office
to make sure. Also whoever takes you to your appt. should be able to get any prescriptions
filled WHILE you are having work done. Ask the dental office if they will do this. That makes
it easier for you to go straight home and not have to hang around waiting for those to get filled.
Plan to take it easy the rest of the day and have soft food like jello or puddings or
smoothies or shakes on hand.
And let them know you do not want to hear anything so maybe they can have music on.
As for blood there may be a small amount when you get home and you will probably
have little gauze squares to change.
And ask your doctor or dentist (either one) if you may take something for the
high anxiety level prior.
You will do fine.

I have asked this question in the past and looked around for help with no answers found. I'm in the Kansas city, Missouri area and I have a mouthful of teeth broken down to the gum including a front top tooth and many others on top and a few on the bottom, with all the rest rotting as well. I'm going to need to have all of the teeth probably surgically removed and given dentures if my mouth will ever look normal again. I get infections at least twice a year but every few months I go to my personal doctor for pain in my back if I have the money to go and he will prescribe anti-biotics for my teeth if I have an infection at that time. My personal doctor has no answers for me either because I don't have any money to take care of my teeth problem and barely enough to pay him. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have thought about trying to pull the few that haven't broken down yet out myself but that still wouldn't take care of the others or get me dentures. By the way, I'm a woman and don't like going out in public much because of this and when I do, I make sure to keep my mouth closed.

Yes in fact there is…it is the Free Masons….you can contact a social worker and have them send an application…they give 600 dollars for dental work and dentures.

You do but if you fail to meet the medical entrance standards you won't get in or you'll have to get your issues fixed before they let you in.

The Orthodontist said i needed to get braces a bite block AND surgery.. if i get the surgery then it will fix my 80% over-jet and i wont need a bite block, but i want to know what my jaw will look like after my surgery, because the are basically going to move and change the position of my jaw, and with the shape of my chin i dont want to look weird. Also the reason im even considering it is because if i choose to accept surgery, ill get surgery AND braces for free, usually it costs thousands of dollars so i need any help deciding that i can get. because my looks are too huge of a deal, im only human and i only live once, so what do u guys think?

If they cut into your jaw from outside your face, you *might* have a scar. I had an abdominal operation and the scar remained for months, but:

You may be able to grow a beard to hide it.
They are often good at cutting in a place where the scar is less noticeable
AFter several years, my scar is much faded–almost invisible
You are younger, so you may heal faster.

I had some dental surgery and i had to take my stud out, and it was only a couple days but the inside has already closed up, i think its relatively thin but what would be the easiest way to reopen it.

Suggestion:

um re-piercing it.
it's so much safer and less painful that "jabbing" it.
mostly because it's YOUR LIP.

go to the place where you got it done.
