Dental Health for the Rest of My Life

I’m due for a trip to the dentist. I’ve always prided myself on my teeth and good oral hygiene. I’m one of the few people that was born without wisdom teeth, one in fifty, to be exact, and I have never had a tooth pulled or worn braces. The last time I was at the dentist, he told me that my teeth were about the best he had ever seen, and that if I took good care of them, I would probably die of a ripe old age with a full set of my own teeth.

This is important to me, because I remember my grandmother’s false teeth and the seemingly constant trouble that they gave her. I would like to avoid that fate, and I hope that aside from having all of my limbs and internal organs, I am buried with my mouth tightly strapped over a full set of teeth.

I want the same for my children, and to that end we use a good pediatric dentist. The guy is a wizard with our children and has helped them overcome the fear and apprehension that they felt with some their initial dental appointments. I think it’s important to start something like that on the right foot; it’s something that they are going to have to do for the rest of their lives, so no point in having their first experiences filled with unnecessary fear. For the most part, my experiences at the dentist’s office have been very positive, and I want the same thing for them.
