Am I Too Old to Have Wisdom Teeth Removed?

Recently the gum around one of my wisdom teeth became slightly infected. I've made an appointment with my dentist for next week. I'm worried that the dentist will want to remove the tooth. I'm 26. Most of my friends who've had wisdom teeth removed had it done when they were in high school. Will there be complications for me since I'm older? Sorry if this is a dumb question :(

Suggestion:

I don't think it really matters when you get your wisdom teeth removed. The reason why most people get their wisdom teeth removed in high school is because that is when their wisdom teeth come in. Not all people get them removed in high school. I know a few people that are around your age and have gotten their wisdom teeth removed.

Aw ,don't feel bad…..all mine are like that!
And I wouldn't think there would be, but hey, horrible and unforeseen consequences are the norm, right?

It wont be any worse for you just because you're older. Not all wisdom teeth are difficult to extract – don't worry.
