Can I Apply for Dentistry After Finishing Dental Hygiene?

I'M currently in university but i was thinking if i go to dental hygiene program it might help me in future.like for example i go to dental hygiene program and take the prerequisite courses for dentistry as well.

Suggestion:

To get into dental school you need a BS or BA degree and at least a 3.6 gpa. Don't know if you would have the required credits after 4 years of hygiene school. I doubt it but you should shock with a counselor. Good luck.
