How Does 'share of Cost' Florida Medicaid Work? I Have Some Serious Dental Issues.?

I need dental work done and I have share of cost. I asked this question before and I received good answers. However, one person said I had to meet share of cost out of my pocket, another said I didn't. Does anyone know how it works? My share of cost is $656.

Suggestion:

It works like this:

You go to the dentist for extractions and lets say it's a whole bunch and the cost is $1000
Since your SOC (share of cost) is $656 Medicaid would pay the entire balance, you pay zero.

Another example: You go to the dentist and get extractions but the cost is only $500
Since that is under your SOC limit of $656, you will be responsible for the entire $500 balance.

SOC Medicaid is a VERY limited medicaid program. It does not require you to pay out any money to anyone. It simply with ONLY pay bills that exceed your SOC of $656 and not provide you ANY benefit if the bill is under $656.

To further complicate things; the SOC limit is for the entire month and you can accumulate bills over the month for Medicaid to pay. For example, on the first of the month you pay out of pocket for your mediciations $200. then you go to the dentist and the bill is $500. Medicaid will pay the entire dental bill (but not the medication bill) because the dental bill went over your SOC limt and medicaid is 'turned on'. Every time a bill is submited to medicaid it gets logged into their system. All the bills in the month get added up and added up, the first bill that adds up to over $656 will get paid in full, all subsequent bills for that month will also get paid in full.

PS. Remember to be upfront with the dentist about having SOC. Not all medicaid doctors will accept this form of medicaid.
