If I Join Military Do I Get Dental Right Away?

just wondering if i join, will they help with dental surgery right away?

Suggestion:

You do but if you fail to meet the medical entrance standards you won't get in or you'll have to get your issues fixed before they let you in.

Shortly after beginning basic training/boot camp, they will march all of you off to dental screening. This begins the dental exam, evaluation, and treatment program. It's so cool, too, because they only work during the workday, thus sparing you PT, boring classes, and the O-course, plus, many of the techs are nice looking females who gaze into your eyes as the doc drills away!

Seriously!

To add to BArbaramat's and Billy11B's excellent answers…know that even if you do pass the dental screening and get an enlistment, you won't get dental surgery "right away" unless it becomes medically necessary, reason being is because it would interfere with BCT and AIT. You will likely have to wait until you get to your first duty station before any dental surgery will be considered.

Yes and no…

You do get dental coverage they day you report to basic training or boot camp…but if you need dental surgery right now you may be denied enlistment until you take care of it. It would be up to the dentist who examines you….and yes they do look at your teeth before you join.

Yes, but you have to get through the initial physical first.
