a career in dental hygiene question?
Is it possible to become a dental hygienist if you have a slight tremor in your hands?
Suggestion:
It would be difficult to become a hygienist with a tremor in your hand, as you can risk scraping/cutting the gums of the patient. Also we always employ a technique called "exploring" which is used with a light grip to feel the sides of the teeth for tartar, and i would imaging it would be difficult. But i guess it depends on how controllable the tremor is. Scaling teeth is all precision work within the fingers. If you're in Canada, i wouldn't recommend Hygiene anyway, too many hygienists – not enough employers
