The sooner you treat the stain, the easier it will come out.
I'd use a little biological washing detergent (not non-biological). The enzymes in in the detergent help break down biological stains, such as blood.
If you don't have any to hand, a free alternative is saliva. It sounds disgusting, but your spit contains enzymes that help break down proteins such as those found in blood. It's best used only with smaller stains as you need to put a generous amount of saliva on the stain. Rub it in a little then leave it to 'digest' the stain for a few minutes. Blot it off with kitchen paper, then wash off with any household soap and a little water. Repeat as necessary.

if it hasnt dried, try hydrogen peroxide and blot it out. Keep repeating. If it has dried, make a liquid paste of meat tenderizer, and test a spot less than the size of a dime. It should start loosening the enzymes.
Mmmm baking soda might help same happen to me with my white sweater
bleach would burn it brown and stain it for ever.
bicarb of soda might help if its not dry then just soap and water should be enough to get rid of it.
